The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Maroussi as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Maroussi defeated 7th ranked Koroivos in Athens 75-59. Maroussi made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Maroussi had a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Ilias Theodorou (206-1995, college: Pacific) stepped up and scored 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. At the losing side swingman Nikolaos Kamaras (201-1997) responded with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Kostas Iatridis (207-2001) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds.
