Regular Season Round 1: Chania - Eunikos 41-50

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Chania at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Eunikos 50-41. Eunikos forced 28 Chania turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Chania helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Mya Berkman (190, college: Liberty) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import guard Diamond Battles (173-2000, college: Georgia) chipped in 16 points and 6 steals. At the losing side American forward Shyia Smith (180, college: UT Arlington) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and Serbian center Milena Marjanovic (193-1991) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Chania's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Eunikos is looking forward to face Giannena at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chania will play against Eleutheria M. in Athens and is hoping to win this game.
