The most exciting game of round 23 in the A1 took place in Athens. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th rankedAmyntas (9-11) to fifth ranked Panathlitikos (11-8) 69-68 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amyntas. Strangely Amyntas outrebounded Panathlitikos 49-31 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Panathlitikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American swingman Quionche Carter (183, college: FGCU) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Panorea Dalla (178-1996) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American center Mya Berkman (190, college: Liberty) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Honesty Scott-Grayson (175, college: Auburn) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Amyntas. Panathlitikos moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Amyntas keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Giannena.
