Regular Season Round 1: Grasshoppers - BAL Weert 61-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Grasshoppers in Katwijk on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by BAL Weert 66-61. BAL Weert outrebounded Grasshoppers 45-30 including 33 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Luxembourg guard Joy Baum (168-2002) who helped to win the game recording 29 points. Hinke Houben contributed with 4 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Karin Kuijt (174-1990) answered with 18 points and 6 assists (made all of her eight free throws) and forward Yuna Klamer (184-2005) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Grasshoppers. BAL Weert is looking forward to face Triple Threat in Haarlem in the next round. Grasshoppers will play on the road against Binnenland in Barendecht and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
