Everything went according to plan in Szeged where ninth rankedAlba (10-11) beat 13th ranked Szedeak (4-17) 86-71 on Wednesday. Alba dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Szedeak 's 24. The best player for the winners was American point guard Lester Medford Jr (178-1993, college: Baylor) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Tyler Thomas (190-2000, college: Hofstra) chipped in 16 points and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Vuk Vulikic (196-1999, college: UCSD) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and Serbian Milos Glisic (205-1998) added 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Alba moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sopron KC and NKA Pecs. Loser Szedeak keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Alba will meet at home OSE Lions (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Szedeak will play against PVSK-Veolia in Pecs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
