Regular Season Round 24: Szedeak - Atomeromu 75-89

There was no surprise in Szeged where 14th rankedSzedeak (4-20) was defeated by second ranked Atomeromu (21-3) 89-75 on Saturday. Atomeromu outrebounded Szedeak 37-24 including 25 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Jay Jay Chandler III (193-1998, college: USA) who scored 29 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The other American import swingman Eric Lockett (196-1995, college: NC State) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Lockett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Atomeromu's coach Kostas Flevarakis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Alan Herndon (206-1994, college: Wyoming) who recorded 16 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian Milos Glisic (205-1998) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Atomeromu have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-3 record behind leader Szombathely. Szedeak lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
