Regular Season Round 6: Haukar - Hottur 105-86

Bottom-ranked Hottur is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to seventh ranked Haukar (3-3) 105-86 on Thursday evening. Haukar outrebounded Hottur 44-31 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. International guard Kari Jonsson (190-97, college: Drexel) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and guard Haukur Oskarsson (194-91) supported him with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Ivar Asgrimsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) did not help to save the game for Hottur. The former international forward Mirko Virijevic (201-81, college: Freed-Hardeman, agency: SportsVision-Service) added 17 points and 8 rebounds. Haukar maintains seventh position with 3-3 record. Newly promoted Hottur still closes the standings with six games lost. Haukar will meet higher ranked KR (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hottur will play against Keflavik (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
