The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tindastoll as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tindastoll smashed 11th ranked Thor Thorl in Sauoarkrokur 92-58. They outrebounded Thor Thorl 45-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for point guard Sigtryggur-Arnar Bjornsson (180-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. British swingman Christopher Caird (198-89, college: Drake, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tindastoll players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-97) responded with 29 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and forward Olafur Jonsson (192-92) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tindastoll (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Thor Thorl lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with six games lost. Thor Thorl will play next round against Valur trying to get back on the winning streak. Tindastoll will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Hottur in Egilsstadir.
