No shocking result in a game when Alftanes defeated at home Hamar 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by Alftanes. Hamar was better in third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Fridrik Jonsson (201-2) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Cedrick Bowen (198-92, college: Charleston So.) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American guard Dee Franklin (196-92, college: FVSU) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian guard Kristijan Vladovic (185-99) added 16 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Hamar. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alftanes will play against Hottur in Egilsstadir in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hamar will play at home against Skallagrimur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
