Regular Season Round 12: Snaefell - Fjolnir 76-88

There was no surprise in Stykkisholmur where 11th rankedSnaefell (3-9) was defeated by eighth ranked Fjolnir (5-7) 88-76 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Fjolnir. Snaefell managed to win fourth quarter 19-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fjolnir made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Snaefell turnovers. Fjolnir looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sigvaldi Eggertsson (201-2000) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Fjolnir's coach Borche Ilievski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Spanish forward Juan Luis Navarro (198-1991) with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Alex Gudlaugsson (188-2000) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Snaefell players scored in double figures. Fjolnir moved-up to seventh place, which they share with KV and KFG. Snaefell lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur.
