Important game to mention about took place in Grindavik. Sixth rankedAlftanes (9-9) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Grindavik (9-9) 94-92 in the fight for the fifth place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 30-20 . But Grindavik won second period 26-24 . However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alftanes shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a good game for Nigerian-Italian power forward David Okeke (204-1998, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 28 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Hordur Vilhjalmsson (194-1988) contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Five Alftanes players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-1986, college: Gonzaga) replied with 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists and Hungarian-American swingman DeAndre Kane (195-1989, college: Iowa St.) added 17 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Grindavik. Alftanes have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Grindavik.
