Regular Season Round 19: Keflavik B - KR 50-104

The game in Keflavik supposed to be also quite interesting. Second rankedKR (14-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Keflavik B (3-13). KR smashed Keflavik B 104-50 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Keflavik B managed to win fourth quarter 17-15 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KR dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Keflavik B 's 16. KR forced 22 Keflavik B turnovers and outrebounded them 54-34 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Cheah Rael-Whitsitt (180-1998, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Lea Gunnarsdottir (174-2003) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five KR players scored in double figures. KR's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Asdis Jonsdottir (166-2007) came up with 14 points and forward Eva Karlsdottir (178-2007) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Keflavik B in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for KR . They maintain second place with 14-2 record having just two points less than leader Armann. Keflavik B lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost.
