Quarter-Finals Round 3: Fjolnir - Thor AK 112-89

It looked good early as Thor took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fjolnir had a 27-17 second period charge getting the lead and Thor was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-112.Fjolnir dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Thor AK 's 40 and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Fjolnir players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Thor 's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Sigvaldi Eggertsson (201-2000) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Fjolnir players scored in double figures. American forward Tim Dalger (201, college: St.Louis) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Reynir Robertsson (186-2004) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Thor in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
