Regular Season Round 16: DCU Saints - Moycullen 80-73

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked DCU Saints (6-10) beat 9th ranked Moycullen (4-12) in Dublin 80-73 on Saturday. DCU Saints dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Moycullen's 32. They outrebounded Moycullen 54-30 including a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American forward Duane Johnson (201-91, college: E.Stroudsburg) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds and international center Martins Provizors (202-87) supported him with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Even 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international guard Dylan Cunningham (195-91) did not help to save the game for Moycullen. Kyle Cunningham added 11 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. DCU Saints maintains seventh position with 6-10 record. Newly promoted Moycullen keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. DCU Saints will meet higher ranked UCD Marian (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Moycullen will play against Belfast Star (#6) and hope to secure a win.
