Regular Season Round 10: Ironi Nes-Ziona - Hapoel T-A 73-86

The most important game in the last round took place in Nes Ziyona between third ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (6-4) and sixth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (6-4) on Thursday night. Ironi Nes-Ziona was defeated by Hapoel Tel-Aviv at home 86-73. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-73. Hapoel Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) scored 18 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American Larry O'Bannon (192-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Craig Smith (201-83, college: Boston Coll.) responded with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Preston Knowles (187-89, college: Louisville) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Five Hapoel Tel-Aviv and four Ironi Nes-Ziona players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Ironi Nes-Ziona. Hapoel Tel-Aviv is looking forward to face Hapoel Holon (#6) at home in the next round. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina and is hoping to win this game.
