Bottom-ranked Galil Gilboa managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive loses. This time they edged sixth-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona in Nes Ziyona 72-71. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ironi Nes-Ziona won fourth quarter 17-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American forward DeMon Brooks (201-92, college: Davidson) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. The former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) came up with 8 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and American forward Craig Smith (201-83, college: Boston Coll.) added 24 points respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Galil Gilboa maintains twelfth place with 6-17 record. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Galil Gilboa's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (#8) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
