Very expected game when 7th ranked Hasharon (3-6) lost on the road to second ranked Hapoel Afula (8-1) 99-88 on Tuesday. Hapoel Afula dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hasharon's 32. Hapoel Afula forced 19 Hasharon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American Brandon Brown (199-85, college: CS San Bernar.) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Puerto Rican forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Oklahoma City) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Isaiah Sykes (198-91, college: Cent.Florida, agency: CGL Sports) added 10 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for Hasharon in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Afula keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Hapoel B/S. Loser Hasharon dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams.
