Regular Season Round 23: Galil Gilboa - Elitzur Ashkelon 113-75

Leader Galil Gilboa delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they crushed 14th ranked Ironi Ashkelon (3-20) 113-75 in Rosh Pina. Galil Gilboa dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Ironi Ashkelon's 34. They outrebounded Ironi Ashkelon 58-24 including a 43-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Galil Gilboa players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Ironi Ashkelon's players. American Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Joaquin Shuchman (191-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists for the winners. Galil Gilboa's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Alon Levin (188-95) answered with 22 points and 5 assists and forward Ido Halifa (195-95) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Ironi Ashkelon. Five Galil Gilboa and four Ironi Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa maintains first place with 18-5 record. Ironi Ashkelon lost seventeenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Galil Gilboa will play against Hap.R/G Givat. (#12) in Givataim in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ironi Ashkelon will play at home against Ironi Ramat Gan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
