Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi K/G - Galil Gilboa 86-90

Very expected game when 12th ranked Maccabi K/G (2-7) lost to eighth ranked Galil Gilboa (4-5) in Kiryat Gat 86-90. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi K/G won fourth quarter 34-31. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galil Gilboa shot 61.1 percent from the field and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) who scored 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Michael Qualls (198-94, college: Arkansas) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) who recorded 20 points and 7 assists and point guard Eyal Shulman (192-87) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi K/G's coach Natan Cohen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Galil Gilboa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi K/G lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Galil Gilboa's next round opponent will be league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi K/G will play on the road against Ironi Nahariya (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
