Regular Season Round 15: Galil Gilboa - Maccabi Haifa 73-94

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Maccabi Haifa (7-8) crushed 11th ranked Galil Gilboa (5-10) in Rosh Pina 94-73. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi Haifa. Galil Gilboa was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Haifa shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. International swingman Amit Simhon (198-89) chipped in 28 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) who recorded 22 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Galil Gilboa's coach Ariel Beit-Halamy gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Maccabi Haifa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Hapoel Eilat. Galil Gilboa lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Maccabi Haifa's next round opponent will be Ironi Nahariya (#8) on the road. Galil Gilboa will play against Maccabi Rishon and hope to win that game.
