Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Hapoel Afula (1-8) lost at home to sixth ranked Hapoel Galilee (5-3) 86-69. Hapoel Galilee outrebounded Hapoel Afula 50-36 including a 41-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: Texas Arlington) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Courtney Fells (197-86, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Hapoel Galilee's coach Avishay Gordon allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ariel Navon (180-97, agency: Ron Sport) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Hapoel Galilee moved-up to fifth place. Hapoel Afula lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Hapoel Galilee's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Maccabi K/G in Kiryat Gat and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Afula will play on the road against Hasharon (#6) in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
