Very expected game when 12th ranked Hapoel Afula (3-10) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Hapoel B/S (7-5) 86-72 on Tuesday. Hapoel B/S looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: Ron Sport) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Andell Cumberbatch (196-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Wayne Langston (201-93, college: Murray St.) responded with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Matan Wilhelm (204-97, agency: Blue and White) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Afula's coach Yossi Buhnick rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel B/S moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hap.Haifa and Hapoel Galilee. Loser Hapoel Afula dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Hapoel B/S will face higher ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (#3) in Givataim in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Afula will play on the road against the league's second-placed Maccabi K/G (#2) in Kiryat Gat and hope to win that game.
