The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi Rehovot (16-6) on the court of tenth ranked Hap.Haifa on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Hap.Haifa 85-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Rehovot. They outrebounded Maccabi Rehovot 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Hap.Haifa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward AlLonzo Coleman (201-89, college: Presbyterian) responded with 18 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado, agency: Ron Sport) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Maccabi Rehovot's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hap.Haifa (9-13) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Hap.R/G Givat. Maccabi Rehovot at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Maccabi K/G. Hap.Haifa is looking forward to face Maccabi K/M (#12) in Kiryat Motzkin in the next round. Maccabi Rehovot will play at home against Hap.R/G Givat. (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
