Regular Season Round 23: Elitzur Yavne - Hapoel B/S 71-94

Date: March 20, 2018
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Hapoel B/S (15-8) outscored on the road 10th ranked Elitzur Yavne (8-15) 94-71 on Tuesday. Hapoel B/S forced 24 Elitzur Yavne turnovers and outrebounded them 44-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Andell Cumberbatch (196-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: Ron Sport) helped adding 25 points and 11 rebounds. Four Hapoel B/S players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Clarke Rosenberg (193-93, college: Chicago St.) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel B/S moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maccabi Raanana. Elitzur Yavne lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Maccabi H/H and Hapoel Afula. Hapoel B/S will meet at home league's second-placed Ironi Kiryat Ata in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Elitzur Yavne will play against Hap.Haifa (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
