Regular Season Round 26: Maccabi T-A - Hapoel J-M 81-82

Important game to mention about took place in Tel-Aviv. Fourth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (16-9) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Maccabi T-A (17-8) 82-81 on Sunday evening. Maccabi T-A was ahead by 13 points after three quarters before a 29-15 charge of Hapoel Jerusalem, which allowed them to win the game. American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) saved the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. International power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Maccabi T-A. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 16-9 record. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. They share the position with Hapoel Holon. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Haifa (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi T-A will play against the league's leader Hapoel Holon (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
