An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Holon. First ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv faced 3rd placed Hapoel Holon. Guests from Tel Aviv (18-3) defeated host Hapoel Holon (14-8) 84-74. They outrebounded Hapoel Holon 49-22 including a 22-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Wade Baldwin IV (193-1996, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Roman Sorkin (208-1996, college: Oregon) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-1989, college: Wichita St.) who recorded 25 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and American Manny Harris (197-1989, college: Michigan) added 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Tel-Aviv have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-3 record. Defending champion Hapoel Holon dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Maccabi Tel-Aviv are looking forward to face Hapoel Jerusalem (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Holon will play against Galil Elion and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
