Very predictable result when sixth rankedE.Ashkelon (5-3) edged at home 11th ranked H.Izrael (2-5) 87-86 on Sunday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American Darrell Davis (196-1996, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Jalen Canty (203-1995, college: UCSB, agency: Haylett Sports) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Four E.Ashkelon players scored in double figures. E.Ashkelon's coach Yair Gewirtz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American Kevin Bracy-Davis (202-1995, college: Davis & Elkins) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Ido Shabat (182-1999) scored 15 points and 7 assists. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for E.Ashkelon . They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Rehovot and I.Nahariya. H.Izrael lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost.
