Bottom-rankedOtef Darom (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-75 loss to eleventh ranked H.Safed Galil (5-8) in Safed on Friday evening. They also forced 30 Otef Darom turnovers. Strangely Otef Darom outrebounded H.Safed Galil 39-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Otef Darom helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-1993, college: Murray St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Dachon Burke (193-1997, college: USA) chipped in 28 points and 4 assists. Four H.Safed Galil players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Vince Cole (198-1998, college: Coastal) who recorded 29 points and 4 assists and forward Ariel Sela (197-2006) added 9 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. H.Safed Galil maintains eleventh place with 5-8 record. Otef Darom at the other side still closes the standings with 13 games lost.
