There was a surprise result when eleventh rankedH.Kfar Qasem (8-9) beat at home higher ranked E.Ashkelon (9-8) 97-92 on Friday. H.Kfar Qasem made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American point guard Paul Delaney (188-1986, college: UAB) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American forward Tyree Corbett (201-2000, college: Denver) accounted for 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side. American Darrell Davis (196-1996, college: Dayton, agency: Slash Sports) came up with 18 points and 8 assists and naturalized Hungarian swingman Amit Suss (201-1999) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for E.Ashkelon in the defeat. Four H.Kfar Qasem and five E.Ashkelon players scored in double figures. H.Kfar Qasem moved-up to ninth place, which they share with H.Safed Galil. E.Ashkelon at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with E.Yavne and H.Eilat. H.Kfar Qasem will meet higher ranked M.Rehovot (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. E.Ashkelon will play against I.Nahariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
