Regular Season Round 23: M.Rishon - Otef Darom 113-77

Bottom-rankedOtef Darom (0-21) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 21th consecutive match to third ranked M.Rishon (14-7) 113-77 on Saturday evening. M.Rishon shot 65.5 percent from the field and made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Otef Darom only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Otef Darom 34-18 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. M.Rishon shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward DJ Burns (201-2001, college: YSU, agency: Players Group) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Qua Grant (185-1999, college: SHSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Burns is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five M.Rishon players scored in double figures. Forward Yonatan Abouloff (195-2005) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Vince Cole (198-1998, college: Coastal) added 25 points respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. M.Rishon have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ramat Hash. Loser Otef Darom still closes the standings.
