Maccabi Ashdod clinched D1 title. They overcame Hapoel Rishon LeZion in the decisive fifth game of the championship series. The victory marked the seventh League title in Maccabi Ashdod's history. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-60. American forward Stasha Carey (188-1995, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). International point guard Dor Saar (165-1999, college: MTSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 assists for the winners. FourM.Ashdod players scored in double figures.
