Fourteenth-rankedM.Haifa (5-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Ashkelon (13-7) on Tuesday. The visitors from Ashkelon managed to secure only two-point victory 75-73 . However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of M.Haifa. They outrebounded M.Haifa 42-29 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American Tyler Wideman (203-1995, college: Butler) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Brandon Bowman (206-1984, college: Georgetown) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ashkelon's coach Dror Cohen used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 22 points and 4 assists by American forward Josh Price (205-1996, college: S.Indiana) did not help to save the game for M.Haifa . Naturalized American swingman Sandy Cohen III (198-1995, college: Green Bay) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Four M.Haifa players scored in double figures. Ashkelon have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-7 record. Loser M.Haifa keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost.
