Novipiu Casale used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Trieste 79-59 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Novipiu Casale. Trieste was better in fourth quarter 18-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Jermaine Marshall (193-90, college: Arizona St.) fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (202-89) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international Stefano Tonut (194-93) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Novipiu Casale will face Mantovana in Mirandola in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Trieste will play at home against CZG Veroli and hope to win that game.
