Very important is a road loss of first ranked Armani Milano (23-4) against ninth ranked AV Cantu (13-14) on Thursday night. Visiting Armani Milano was crushed by AV Cantu in Cantu 83-64. The game without a history. AV Cantu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AV Cantu outrebounded Armani Milano 42-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was international point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. American-Bulgarian center Eric Williams (206-84, college: Wake Forest) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four AV Cantu players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) who recorded 15 points and Jamaican power forward Samardo Samuels (206-89, college: Louisville) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. AV Cantu moved-up to eighth place. Defending champion Armani Milano still keeps top position with four games lost. AV Cantu will meet higher ranked Trenkwalder RE (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Armani Milano will play against Granarolo BO and hope to secure a win.
