There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Taranto (5-14) won against at home 14th ranked Martina Franca (5-14) 69-62 on Sunday. Quite impressive performance for point guard Valerio Circosta (188-87) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Roberto Maggio (183-90) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Taranto players scored in double figures. Forward Ferdinando Luis Marengo (196-92) answered with 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and power forward Gaetano Spera (209-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) added 4 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Martina Franca. Taranto moved-up to fourteenth place in B, which they share with Sangiorgese. Taranto will face higher ranked Senigallia (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
