Regular Season Round 22: Faenza - Monsummano 88-83

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Monsummano (11-11) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Faenza (10-12) 88-83 on Wednesday. Faenza outrebounded Monsummano 38-18 including a 16-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Emanuele Pini (197-95) chipped in 26 points. Forward Gabriele Giarelli (197-93) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and power forward Giorgio Sgobba (202-92) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Faenza moved-up to ninth place in B, which they share with Varese Coels. Loser Monsummano keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Faenza will face Rimini (#10) at home in the next round.
