There was a surprise result when seventh ranked Vicenza (16-11) defeated at home leader Udine APU (24-3) 68-57 on Sunday. Vicenza made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Vicenza outrebounded Udine APU 37-20 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Luca Benassi (185-81, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88) with 9 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Mauro Pinton (185-84, agency: Two Points) scored 12 points. Newly promoted Vicenza maintains seventh place in B with 16-11 record. Loser Udine APU still keeps top position with three games lost. Vicenza will face Volpino (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Udine APU will play against Moncalieri (#16) and hope to win that game.
