There was an upset when higher ranked Ortona (17-12) was edged on the road by eleventh ranked Giulianova (12-18) 67-65 on Saturday. Giulianova forced 21 Ortona turnovers and had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ortona was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Lorenzo Bartoli (197-94) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Gianluca Di Carmine (200-86) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and center Raffaele Martone (208-90) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ortona. Ortona's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Giulianova maintains eleventh place in B with 12-18 record. Newly promoted Ortona keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. Giulianova will face higher ranked Senigallia (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
