Rather predictable result when third ranked Matera (2-2) beat on the road 7th ranked Senigallia (2-2) 75-70 on Thursday. Senigallia trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 22-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-75 at the end of the game. Point guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Alessandro Grande (185-94, agency: Two Points) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Matera players scored in double figures. Nicola Bastone (195-92) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Andrea Maggiotto (194-88) added 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Matera went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with 13 other teams including defeated Senigallia. Matera will face Valdiceppo (#13) in Perugia in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
