Regular Season Round 21: Ravenna - Alma Trieste 71-63

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Alma Trieste (14-7) against fifth ranked Ravenna (13-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Alma Trieste was defeated by Ravenna in a tough game in Ravenna 63-71. It was a good game for American power forward Taylor Smith (199-91, college: SF Austin) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Derrick Marks (190-93, college: Boise St.) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Alessandro Cittadini (207-79) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Matteo Da-Ros (204-89) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Alma Trieste. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ravenna moved-up to fourth place in A2. Loser Alma Trieste keeps the third position with seven games lost. Ravenna will face Piacenza (#9) in Casalpusterlengo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alma Trieste will play on the road against Unieuro Forli (#16) and hope to win that game.
