Regular Season Round 20: Desio - Faenza 88-55

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Desio (9-11) outleveled at home higher ranked Faenza (12-8) 88-55 on Sunday. They outrebounded Faenza 39-25 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Faenza was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian guard Ariel Svoboda (192-85, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Andrea Negri (193-88) who added 20 points during the contest. Five Desio players scored in double figures. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) responded with 15 points and point guard Marco Perin (183-93) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Desio have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position in B with 9-11 record. Loser Faenza keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Desio will face Volpino AltoSeb. (#14) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Faenza will play against Crema (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
