Regular Season Round 23: Cefalu - Catanzaro 65-77

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Catanzaro (12-10) defeated on the road 10th ranked Cefalu (10-12) 77-65 on Sunday. Catanzaro made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Cefalu was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Nicolas Morici (193-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 7 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Dario Guadagnola (198-88) helped adding 18 points and 8 rebounds. Catanzaro's coach Orlando Pullano used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Marco Mollura (196-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and Guglielmo Sodero (192-93) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Catanzaro maintains seventh place in B with 12-10 record. Newly promoted Cefalu keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Catanzaro will face league's second-placed Palestrina in Roma in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cefalu will play on the road against Roma S.Azzurra (#14) and hope to win that game.
