Regular Season Round 25: Betaland Cdo - Grissin Bon RE 59-62

A very interesting game took place in Capo d'Orlando. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Betaland Cdo (14-11) to seventh ranked Grissin Bon RE (14-11) 62-59 in the fight for the fifth place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Betaland Cdo won fourth quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grissin Bon RE made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Betaland Cdo turnovers. International forward Achille Polonara (203-91) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) accounted for 11 points and 5 rebounds. Grissin Bon RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Dominique Archie (200-87, college: S.Carolina) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian guard Milenko Tepic (202-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Betaland Cdo in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Grissin Bon RE. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Banco di Srd and Betaland Cdo. Grissin Bon RE's next round opponent will be Openjobmetis VA (#11) in Varese which should be theoretically an easy game. Betaland Cdo will play on the road against The Flexx PT (#8) in Pistoia and hope to win that game.
