Regular Season Round 4: Omnia Basket - Libertas 94-76

There was no surprise in Pavia where bottom-ranked Libertas (0-4) were defeated by eleventh ranked Omnia Basket (2-2) 94-76 on Sunday. Omnia Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Libertas' 34. The former international point guard Fabio Di-Bella (185-78) fired 23 points for the winners. Swingman Saverio Mazzantini (195-95, agency: Players Group) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Omnia Basket players scored in double figures. Guard Andrea Giampaoli (185-90) produced 29 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and power forward Gianluca Giorgi (200-95) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Omnia Basket moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with 7 other teams. Libertas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with four games lost. Omnia Basket will face San Miniato (#11) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Libertas will play against the league's leader Omegna (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
