Very important is a road loss of third ranked Scandone AV (4-2) against sixteenth ranked New Basket BR (1-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Scandone AV was defeated by New Basket BR in a tough game in Brindisi 88-92. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Scandone AV. Haitian center Cady Lalanne (208-92, college: Massachusetts) notched 24 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Scott Suggs (197-89, college: Washington, agency: GFSG) supported him with 19 points. Four New Basket BR players scored in double figures. Even 28 points by American guard Jason Rich (191-86) did not help to save the game for Scandone AV. International point guard Ariel Filloy (189-87, agency: Interperformances) added 23 points. Scandone AV's coach Stefano Sacripanti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. New Basket BR left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with VL Pesaro. Scandone AV at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. New Basket BR will play against higher ranked Virtus Bologna (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Scandone AV will play against Armani Milano where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
