The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Padova's (8-9) road loss to seventh ranked Forli Tigers (10-7) 66-80 on Saturday. Forli Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Padova's 24. They outrebounded Padova 39-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Michael Sacchettini (205-95, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Antonio De-Fabritiis (188-90) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Forli Tigers players scored in double figures. Forli Tigers' coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Federico Miaschi (194-0) responded with 23 points and point guard Andrea Piazza (188-89) scored 8 points and 6 assists. Forli Tigers moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Faenza. Loser Padova keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Forli Tigers will face higher ranked Lecco (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Padova will play against Rimini (#13) and hope to win that game.
