There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Volpino (5-18) smashed at home 13th ranked Olginate (7-16) 76-57 on Saturday. It was a great evening for naturalized Croatian swingman Armin Mazic (199-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points and 8 rebounds. Manuel Di-Meco (200-97, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Volpino players scored in double figures. Power forward Andrea Bassani (198-89) responded with 8 points and 16 rebounds and Giacomo Siberna (192-96) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Volpino have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixteenth place in B with 5-18 record. Olginate lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Volpino will face higher ranked Crema (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
