Second Stage Round 6: Treviglio - Pistoia 104-65

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Pistoia (3-7) was crushed on the road by second ranked Treviglio (7-3) 104-65 on Sunday. Treviglio dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Pistoia's 22. They outrebounded Pistoia 43-24 including 29 on the defensive glass. Treviglio looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Pistoia's players. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Aleksandar Marcius (208-1990, college: DePaul) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Pierpaolo Marini (193-1993, agency: Players Group) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Treviglio players scored in double figures. Treviglio's coach Alessandro Finelli felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Lorenzo Saccaggi (188-1992, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 17 points and guard Gianluca Della Rosa (180-1996) added 14 points respectively. Treviglio maintains second position with 7-3 record behind leader Juvi Cremona. Loser Pistoia keeps the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Cento.
