There was no surprise when 13th rankedMonferrato (2-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Desio (5-2) 80-68 on Wednesday. Guard Alessandro Cipolla (198-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Alberto Chiumenti (204-1987, agency: Players Group) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Desio players scored in double figures. Naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (214-1990) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and the former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) added 15 points and 18 rebounds respectively for lost side. Monferrato's coach Fabio Corbani tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Desio maintains third place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Legnano, which they share with 8 other teams. Monferrato lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. They share it with 7 other teams.
