Not a big story in a game when 11th rankedAncona (1-5) lost on the road to sixth ranked Matelica (4-2) 62-45 on Saturday. Matelica outrebounded Ancona 49-32 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Anna Poggio (185-2001) notched 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Argentinian point guard Debora Gonzalez (170-1990, agency: Players Group) supported her with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds by Georgian center Keso Barbakadze (185-2003) did not help to save the game for Ancona . Guard Elena Streri (170-2004) added 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Matelica moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cagliari V and Costa Masnaga. Ancona lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Rovigo.
